RENTAL APPLICATION
Need a rental application in a hurry? Click on "RENTAL APPLICATION."
Take a close look at this newly revised application. It's different
in many respects from the one in the current Landlording
book. This revised application asks for the applicant's cell
phone number rather than the work phone number. It asks for an
email address. It does not ask for date of birth. It does not
ask for the relationship or age of other persons who will be
living with the applicant. It does not ask for the applicant's
occupation. It does ask for the last four digits only of banking
and credit account numbers. Copy it into your word processing
program if you'd like and print it (print it mono-spaced, that
is, with a "typewriter" font like Courier, and it should
look the same as it does here). Or print it directly from your
Web browser.
NOTICE TO PAY RENT
Here's a notice to pay rent or quit which incorporates certain
payment information (when, where, and to whom the rent must be
paid).
FORM FOR TENANCY REFERENCE
This form resulted from a reader's suggestion. It is one of the
new forms now included in the ninth edition of the Landlording
book. It's actually a letter which begins "Fellow Landlord:"
and goes on to ask seventeen questions about a tenant who's being
screened. The letter could be mailed along with a self-addressed,
stamped envelope, or it could be used as a guide for, and record
of, a telephone inquiry (follow the rental application instructions
above for printing).
